When I met Janelle + James for our first client meet last Fall they shared about themselves - Janelle a graphic designer and James a music producer. I loved hearing about their love story and about how James proposed. They got a puppy and later that same day James asked Janelle to spend the rest of her life by his side (I'm sure their pup was super excited to have witnessed this special moment). Together they shared special details they had planned to incorporate for their wedding, and I became super excited when Janelle told me she was planning on wearing her mother's wedding dress. There is nothing that swoons me more than thoughtful and memorable details. Not only was she going to honor such a precious heirloom, but they were also going to exchange their grandparents wedding bands.
Wedding coverage began at the Walking Iron Bed and Breakfast where Janelle and her two bridesmaids got ready. The victorian decor and architecture was a perfect background for this vintage bride. It started raining as soon as we got to the B&B which invited soft lighting into the room. I wanted to not only get pictures of Janelle as she got ready but to also make sure to get plenty of shots of that special wedding dress. You could say I was pretty pumped at how the soft light, the vintage B&B decor, and this beautiful bride and her wedding dress worked perfectly.
Janelle + James made sure to incorporate history throughout their entire wedding. After wrapping up getting ready pictures, Chris and I drove to the ceremony site - the First Lutheran Church, where we snapped pictures of James as he waited for his soon-to-be bride to arrive. The charming and historic church was glowing amid the continued rainstorm.
Since the rainstorm continued we were bound to stay inside the church. The big windows let in an enormous amount of romantic natural light. We took advantage of every area and corner of the tiny church to capture some sweet moments.
Thanks again Janelle + James for choosing me to photograph such beautiful moments on your wedding day <3
