Jordan + Brian | June 8, 2018 | Wedding Photography | Madison, WI
Jordan + Brian’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful. The day started with a first-look with Jordan and her dad. Oh man, there were lots of tears (and yes, maybe I was close to joining in). It was so great to see this tender moment between daughter and father. It followed with a first-look with Jordan and Brian. “Is this what you’ve been hiding from me?!” exclaimed Brian while wiping tears from his face as he looked lovingly at his soon-to-be-bride. These first looks always get me. For months this couple plans and organizes their big day, and then boom! The day they have been waiting for is finally here. First looks are this personal moment where someone gets to just embrace the moment and appreciate the fact that this. is. it. All that hard work and it’s time to get to business and make it official!
The ceremony was short and sweet and perfect. There was a cute ring bearer, an Irish prayer, and finally — the I do’s! The soft light inside the Gates of Heaven highlighted Jordan and Brian as they proclaimed their love to one another in front of their friends and family. After a sweet kiss and cheers it was finally time to celebrate! But first – formal pictures. We photographed wedding party and couple portraits along Lake Mendota where we photographed Jordan and Brians engagement session. Then we all walked down to the Wisconsin State Capitol and shot a couple more. The weather cooperated perfectly!
After pictures we made our way to Field Table and then finally to The Cooper Tavern for the reception. You see, Jordan and Brian are AMAZING planners and so naturally they decided to plan their reception at the place where they had one of their first dates. I always love when couples incorporate locations that mean something to them. And of course, I was pumped to photograph their reception there because they have delicious food and a warm ambiance. There were many toasts. I learned that Jordan is “the Jordie Nelson of confidence” which I totally believe, because she rocked that gorgeous wedding dress. After some more happy tears, and lots of laughs there was cake and dancing and the party continued in celebration of the new husband and wife.
Congrats again, Jordan + Brian!!! Thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer and inviting me to be a part of such a special day!
