Katie + Tim met while they were both students at UW-Madison. During their time here they enjoyed all of the beautiful spots Madison has to offer. “Hiking, picnicking, reading, and drinking coffee are pretty much us in our natural state!” Katie exclaimed. So we decided to meet at Tenney Park for their engagement session – a place where they frequently visited while they were students in Madison. It was the perfect setting for their engagement session.
I was already super excited to meet Katie + Tim in person before learning that their 8 year old Husky would be joining and, well, I pretty much couldn’t wait. They have had their pup for several years so it was only fair to include him in some of their pictures. We walked around the park and down the locks by Lake Mendota as we enjoyed the warm July sun.
I learned more about Katie + Tim as we continued the engagement session. Katie is a Harvard graduate who will advance her career in education this Fall. Tim is an accountant who is lucky enough to work from home. Both have traveled outside of the country, but not together which they hope to change for their honeymoon. The two look forward to enjoying their new residence in the Twin Cities.
The engagement ring Katie wears belonged to her grandmother. It was important for me to get pictures of this special keepsake. I enjoyed photographing Katie as she smiled and laughed with Tim throughout the session. Both claimed to be “awkward in front of the camera”, but I think they did a great job and are total naturals – love will do that to you <3
Congrats on your engagement Katie + Tim! Looking forward to photographing your wedding next summer!
